Plateau United coach calls for fan patience after first NPFL win

Plateau United head coach Gbenga Ogunbote has called for patience and continued support from fans following the team’s first victory of the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

The Peace Boys secured a 1-0 win against Kwara United at the New Jos Stadium during Matchday 2. Sam Pam scored the decisive goal 10 minutes into the second half to claim the three points.

Addressing the media, Ogunbote urged supporters to maintain faith through both the successful and challenging periods of the campaign, stating, “They will definitely be proud of our hard work at the end of the 2026-27 season.” He emphasized that the team's progress should be judged over the course of the entire season rather than on individual results.

Plateau United is scheduled to face Niger Tornadoes in Minna this weekend for their Matchday 3 fixture.
