Platense and Deportivo Riestra draw 1-1 in Torneo Clausura

Platense and Deportivo Riestra drew 1-1 in a match during the eighth round of the Torneo Clausura at the Ciudad de Vicente López stadium. Gonzalo Lencina opened the scoring for Platense in the 16th minute following a header from a Franco Zapiola cross.

Deportivo Riestra equalized in the 26th minute of the second half when Alexander Díaz capitalized on a defensive error. The draw leaves Platense with 11 points, keeping them in the provisional playoff contention for Zona A.

Both teams now shift focus to knockout competitions. Platense is scheduled to travel to Brazil to face Fluminense in the first leg of the CONMEBOL Libertadores quarterfinals. Deportivo Riestra will play Banfield on Wednesday in the Copa Argentina quarterfinals.
