Platier and Xperix report earnings turnarounds driven by AI expansion
South Korean technology firms Platier and Xperix have reported successful turnarounds in their first-half earnings, driven by expansions into AI and digital healthcare sectors.
Platier recorded an operating profit of 360 million won in the second quarter, a significant shift from an operating loss of 1.78 billion won in the same period last year. This growth was fueled by an 89.3% increase in AX (AI Transformation) solution revenue. The company is expanding its ‘XGEN’ agentic AI platform within the financial sector and is transitioning to an ‘AX Foundry’ system to standardize solution assets. Platier also noted increased revenue from DX (Digital Transformation) solutions following major contracts with Samsung SDS and STAGIL.
Xperix achieved a turnaround in separate operating profit for the first half of the year, reporting 90 million won compared to a 900 million won loss last year. While its consolidated results showed an operating loss due to heavy R&D investments in new ventures, the company is aggressively pursuing AI and digital healthcare. Through its subsidiary Bagel Labs, Xperix is co-developing a digital therapeutic device for obesity management in collaboration with Hanmi Pharm. Additionally, Xperix is integrating AI infrastructure capabilities following its merger with A-Newt and plans to pursue the full consolidation of Intellectual Discovery into its financial statements later this year.
