PLATRONiC releases 'Emperor’s New Clothes' EP

The Finnish-German futurepop duo PLATRONiC has released a new three-track EP titled ‘Fortress of Fools: The Emperor’s New Clothes’. The project reworks their single ‘Fortress of Fools’, a song inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale and written by vocalist Kay Burden as a reflection on global frustrations regarding social hierarchies and human behavior.

Rather than traditional futurepop remixes, the EP explores diverse musical directions. One version, created in collaboration with Swedish artist On Moral Ends, is described as ‘dark electro country’ featuring organic guitar textures and a mix of male and female vocals. Another version, featuring Imppu, is a synthpop mashup that emphasizes electronic rhythms. The third version moves toward a medieval goth aesthetic, testing the boundaries of the original composition’s identity through changes in instrumentation and atmosphere.
