Plav Municipality Publishes First Comprehensive Monograph

The Municipality of Plav in Montenegro organized a ceremony to present "Plav – grad na jezeru", the town’s first complete monographic volume. The book, published by the municipal authority, stems from months of research that incorporated archival documents, scientific literature, Ottoman defters and salnames, census records, photographs, family archives and oral testimonies.

The monograph is divided into seven thematic sections covering the natural‑geographic setting, historical overview, cultural‑spiritual heritage, demographic and social processes, identity and collective memory, sport and physical culture, and archival‑photographic material. Municipal President Nihad Canović, along with Sait Šabotić and editorial board members Afan Latić, Muhamed Cecunjanin and Boban Redžepagić highlighted its pioneering character and its role as a foundation for future research on Plav and the surrounding region.
