Plaxico Burress likens prison stint to playing for the New York Jets

Former NFL wide receiver and Super Bowl XLII champion Plaxico Burress said his 20‑month prison sentence for an illegal gun charge felt similar to his 2011 season with the New York Jets. In an interview on Lil Wayne’s "The Joint Venture Show," Burress explained, "They're both kind of similar because when I walked into prison … I was like, ‘damn man you a f---ing loser,’ and I had the same feeling every day I walked through the door with the Jets."

Burress served time after a 2009 conviction for illegal gun possession, was released early in June 2011, and signed a one‑year, $3 million deal with the Jets. He previously played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants, winning his lone Super Bowl with the Giants in 2007.
