Play A Mulher no Espelho to tour Northeast Brazil
The theatrical monologue ‘A Mulher no Espelho’, performed by Cia. no Ar!, is set to tour seven cities across Northeast Brazil, including Fortaleza, Mossoró, Cajazeiras, Juazeiro do Norte, Recife, João Pessoa, and São Luís.
Performed by Jaqueline Lince, the production is adapted from Matei Vișniec’s ‘O Homem no Espelho’. It utilizes elements of the Theatre of the Absurd and Noir aesthetics to explore themes of identity, emotional isolation, and mental health. The play follows a woman who hears a mysterious voice from a bathroom mirror, leading to a conflict involving delusion and loneliness.
The São Luís performance at Teatro Sesc Napoleão Ewerton will include Libras accessibility and a debate mediated by psychoanalyst Silvana Barbalho. The tour is scheduled to include nine performances and four debates aimed at fostering dialogue with the audience regarding the psychological themes presented on stage.
