Play ‘Café, Almoço, Jantar’ to perform at Casa de Cultura Laura Alvim

The play ‘Café, Almoço, Jantar’ is scheduled for a short run at the Casa de Cultura Laura Alvim in Ipanema from October 2 to October 25. Written by Ivan Fernandes and co-directed by Fernandes and Maíra Kestenberg, the production explores 31 years of Brazilian history through the lens of a single family.

Structured in three episodes—‘Café’, ‘Almoço’, and ‘Jantar’—the play depicts the years 1987, 1994, and 2018. It uses the setting of Dona Filó’s boarding house to examine how political, economic, and social shifts in Brazil influence the personal lives and decisions of ordinary people. The cast includes Fátima Patrício, Gabriel Breves, Aldo Perrotta, and Renato Albuquerque.
