Play releases 2025 ESG report detailing environmental and social initiatives

Play has released its 2025 ESG report, detailing the company’s progress in environmental impact, employee responsibility, and corporate governance. According to the report, CO2 emissions related to the network, buildings, and fleet decreased by 15% year-over-year, driven by network modernization, the purchase of green energy, and the use of power-saving algorithms.

The company has fully allocated 700 million PLN raised through its first green bond issuance toward network modernization, renewable energy development, and the circular economy. Additionally, Play secured a 12-year contract to purchase 240 GWh of solar energy.

In terms of sustainable transport, hybrid vehicles now comprise 83% of the company’s fleet, which includes 50 electric cars. The operator aims for one in four company vehicles to be electric by the end of 2027. The company also reported renewing and redistributing approximately 415,000 subscriber devices to extend their lifecycle. On the social front, Play received the Friendly Workplace Certificate for the fifth time.
