Playa Azul businesses seek recovery through local tourism

Local authorities and business representatives in Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán, are calling for citizens to support the local economy by visiting Playa Azul. The initiative aims to reactivate businesses, specifically the 'enramadas' (beachside dining establishments), which have faced significant difficulties following recent meteorological phenomena.

During a press conference, municipal officials and representatives of the vendors emphasized that increased local consumption is vital for the recovery of families and businesses that depend on tourism. Beyond the dining establishments, the revitalization of the area is expected to benefit local hotels, shops, and grocery stores. Business representatives noted that recent municipal cleaning efforts in the area have provided important support to merchants who were unable to operate for several weeks due to sea conditions and beach damage.
