Playa Cativo Lodge joins Small Luxury Hotels of the World

Playa Cativo Lodge, located on the shores of Golfo Dulce in the Osa Peninsula, has joined the Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) collection. Founded in 2012, the lodge is an independent luxury property that is inaccessible by road, requiring guests to arrive via boat or helicopter.

The property emphasizes environmental conservation, with over 95% of its land dedicated to protecting the surrounding ecosystem and supporting the Piedras Blancas National Park. The lodge utilizes renewable energy, organic agriculture, and strict waste management practices, including the elimination of single-use plastics. Its culinary offerings are supported by an on-site organic farm.

General Manager Kenneth Hidalgo stated that the inclusion in SLH recognizes the lodge’s commitment to independence, privacy, authenticity, and its deep connection to the local environment.
