Cancún and Isla Mujeres implement municipal infrastructure and business updates

In Cancún, Mayor Ana Patricia Peralta announced that the municipal budget for sargassum management will remain consistent for 2027. A dedicated sargassum cabinet continues to meet weekly with state and federal authorities to monitor beach conditions and coordinate with beach concessionaires. Additionally, the administration has inaugurated a new Business Service Office at the Municipal Palace to streamline the process of obtaining operating licenses, aiming to eliminate intermediaries and improve administrative efficiency for local entrepreneurs and large businesses.

In Isla Mujeres, the municipal government is advancing an electrical undergrounding project in the island's central district. Working in coordination with the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) and telecommunications companies, crews are removing old poles and overhead cables, specifically on Bravo Street. The initiative seeks to improve urban aesthetics, clear pedestrian walkways, and increase infrastructure resilience against strong winds and hurricanes during the storm season.
