Playa del Carmen begins land regularization for San Judas Tadeo

The Playa del Carmen City Council has taken the first step toward regularizing the San Judas Tadeo neighborhood. The initiative involves the Ejido Playa del Carmen donating 33 hectares of land, part of the 77-hectare Parcel 186, to the municipality. This land currently houses approximately 5,000 people across 1,300 lots.

The proposal has been referred to the United Commissions of Finance, Patrimony, and Account, and Urban Development for analysis. If approved, the municipality will oversee the subdivision of the land and the transfer of the neighborhood and three roadways.

Following the land transfer, the Municipal Housing Directorate will manage a second stage involving land measurements and boundary definitions to facilitate the issuance of property titles. This regularization is intended to provide legal certainty to residents and enable the municipality to provide public services and infrastructure to the area.
