Playa del Carmen’s Feria del Carmen 2026 draws thousands to concerts and launches extensive security plan
The Feria del Carmen 2026 in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, featured a series of free public concerts that attracted large crowds. The rap duo Rich Mafia performed before more than 25 000 young attendees, while the grupero group Grupo Mojado drew over 30 000 spectators for a night of romantic and nostalgic songs. Both events were part of a broader artistic program that also included planned performances by Cachirula & Loojan and Aleks Syntek.
Municipal authorities coordinated an inter‑institutional security operation to ensure safety during the fair. The Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana deployed 335 personnel together with the Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional, Marina, Guardia Nacional, Protección Civil and local police, implementing patrols, road closures after 5 p.m., and on‑site medical and emergency services.
On the same weekend a charity run, “Run 2026: Carrera por la Justicia Social,” was held along Avenida 10, drawing more than 2 000 participants who raised supplies for the Centro de Control Animal, Asistencia y Zoonosis (CENCAAZ) while promoting healthy lifestyles and animal‑welfare awareness.
