Playa del Carmen distributes 1,400 backpacks to rural communities

Municipal authorities in Playa del Carmen have distributed more than 1,400 school backpacks to children across 19 rural communities. Led by Mayor Estefanía Mercado, the initiative aims to alleviate the economic pressure on families during the back-to-school season, covering costs for supplies, uniforms, and footwear.

The distribution took place at the Mario Garrigos Bobadilla Telesecundaria school in Nuevo Noh-Bec. Beneficiaries included families from various localities such as Valle de la Primavera, Cristo Rey, Jacinto Canek, and several others. The program is part of a municipal strategy to provide direct support to remote areas where access to services and economic resources can be more challenging.
