Santiago social services program reaches 6,000 residents
More than 6,000 residents of Santiago province received health and social assistance through three sessions of the ‘Primero Tú’ program. Managed by the Presidency’s Strategic and Special Projects Directorate (Propeep), the initiative provided various essential services to the community.
Services included solidarity pensions, affiliations to the National Health Insurance (SeNaSa), dental and ophthalmological care, and medical consultations for general and preventive health. The program also offered support for pregnant women, ultrasounds, mammograms, and the distribution of medications and nutritional supplements.
Additionally, the sessions provided technical training enrollment opportunities through the National Police and Armed Forces Vocational Schools, as well as workshops and talks on drug prevention. Propeep Director Robert Polanco emphasized that these community outreach efforts are vital for identifying resident needs and facilitating access to government programs.
