Playa del Carmen Mayor Strengthens Security Ties with Mexican Army

Municipal President Estefanía Mercado met with General Fidel Mondragón, commander of the 34th Military Zone, to reinforce cooperation between local authorities and the Mexican Army in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo. The meeting highlighted the continued support of the federal armed forces, the National Guard, the Navy, and state security agencies in maintaining public safety.

Mercado credited President Claudia Sheinbaum and Quintana Roo Governor Mara Lezama for fostering the three‑level government collaboration, emphasizing that coordinated presence and responsibility are essential for protecting families and preserving peace in the municipality.
