Playa del Carmen Mayor implements social and infrastructure initiatives

Playa del Carmen Mayor Estefanía Mercado has initiated several municipal programs focused on social welfare and infrastructure maintenance.

As part of an educational inclusion initiative, the mayor delivered school backpacks to students at the CAM Zazil-Ha special education center. This action is part of a broader effort that has seen over 6,000 backpacks distributed to basic level students in Playa del Carmen to support families and encourage student retention.

Additionally, the municipal government has provided new equipment, tools, and materials to the Municipal Sports Institute. This delivery includes maintenance tools such as lawnmowers, toolboxes, and cleaning supplies, as well as a rehabilitated motorcycle, to ensure the upkeep of local sports facilities like the Riviera Maya Sports Unit.
