Playas de Rosarito to offer free dual nationality for U.S.-born minors

Authorities in Playas de Rosarito, Baja California, will offer free dual nationality processing for minors born in the United States starting in October 2026. The program is designed to assist families living in the border region by eliminating costs associated with apostilles and official translations required for Mexican birth certificates.

The registration period will run from October 1 to October 26, 2026, for minors aged 0 to 17. To facilitate access, service modules will be decentralized across three locations: the Municipal Palace, the Primo Tapia Delegation, and the Real de Rosarito area. This initiative aims to ensure legal certainty, facilitate school enrollment, and guarantee access to public health services for binational children.
