Playmobil Factory in Dietenhofen Set for Auction of Equipment and Inventory

The Playmobil plant in Dietenhofen, Germany, ended production on 30 June 2026 after more than five decades, laying off 350 workers. Production has been shifted to facilities in Malta and the Czech Republic.

The site’s entire inventory – including band‑saw machines, a hydraulic crane, injection‑moulding equipment, measurement technology, workbenches, storage racks, office furniture and even two life‑size Playmobil figures with built‑in disinfectant dispensers – is being sold at an online auction run by RESTLOS. Over 700 lots are listed, with starting bids as low as €1. The auction runs until 29 July 2026, with the first bids taken on that date and pickup possible only on‑site.
