Playmobil to auction rare archival pieces in Paris

A historic auction of Playmobil archival and promotional materials is scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Hôtel Drouot in Paris. Organized by the auction house Pestel-Debord, the sale features nearly 300 unique items that were never intended for regular retail sale.

The collection includes approximately 70 oversized figures, 170 three-dimensional dioramas, and 30 advertising objects. Notable items include a 1.65-meter-tall astronaut figure and a 1.65-meter-tall Marshmallow Man from the film Ghostbusters. Other pieces range from three-meter-tall giraffes to various themed scenes such as police, knights, and farm life.

Estimates for the lots range from 10 to 1,500 euros. The auction serves as a documentation of the brand's design history and its promotional presence in the French market over several decades. The event is expected to attract both specialized collectors and those interested in the brand's cultural legacy.
