PlaySide Studios delays Game of Thrones: War for Westeros to early 2027

PlaySide Studios announced that the real‑time strategy game Game of Thrones: War for Westeros will not be released in 2026 as originally scheduled. The launch has been moved to early 2027, giving the team additional time to achieve the quality standards it has set.

The studio said development is progressing well and reiterated that the game will feature four playable factions – House Stark, House Lannister, House Targaryen and the Night King’s army – with upgradable heroes and a focus on responsive unit behavior. More details about in‑game locations such as King’s Landing, the Wall and Ashemark were also revealed. A developer statement noted, “This decision gives us the time to continue building toward our goal and ensure the game reaches the high‑quality level we aim for.”
