Capcom launches Resident Evil demo as June 2026 sees a wave of new game releases and free PlayStation titles
The PlayStation Store added two free games this week. Diamond Painting ASMR, a low‑budget casual title that lets players paint by numbers with ASMR sound effects, is available on PS4 and PS5 with a Platinum trophy that can be earned without purchasing add‑ons. Real Cake Maker, a family‑friendly baking simulation, also launched free on PS4/PS5, though a paid Complete Edition adds extra recipes and cosmetics.
Capcom released a playable demo of Resident Evil Requiem, letting fans test the upcoming survival‑horror entry before its full launch. At the same time, persistent rumours suggest the company may announce a remake of Resident Evil Code Veronica at the Summer Game Fest. An internal leak further outlines Capcom’s roadmap through 2028, confirming major expansions for Requiem and scheduled remakes of Code Veronica (2027) and Resident Evil Zero (2028).
PlayStation Plus’ Essential lineup for June 2026 was revealed, featuring Grounded Fully Yoked Edition, Nickelodeon All‑Star Brawl 2 and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. All three titles focus on multiplayer modes and will be available to all Plus tiers from 2 June to 6 July, prompting a poll on subscriber satisfaction.
June 2026 also brings a broad slate of releases across platforms. Highlights include a Star Fox remake for Nintendo Switch 2, The 7th Guest and Gothic 1 remakes, Square Enix’s The Adventures of Elliot, and indie‑driven Denshattack! The Turok shooter returned to the PS5 store at a discounted price of €11.59 until 11 June. Together, these announcements signal a busy month for gamers worldwide.
