PlayStation 6 leak predicts performance up to double that of PS5
Leaks attributed to the Moore’s Law Is Dead (MLID) channel, based on internal AMD simulations of the upcoming RDNA 5 graphics architecture, suggest the next‑generation Sony PlayStation 6 could deliver more than twice the performance of the current PlayStation 5. The data, drawn from a two‑year‑old AMD document, show that even with only a 25 % increase in memory bandwidth (to 640 GB/s) and a 33 % rise in compute units (52‑55 RDNA 5 units), the console could achieve a 2.5‑3× boost in rasterisation and a 6‑12× jump in ray‑tracing performance. Proposed hardware includes up to ten Zen 6 CPU cores, compared with the PS5’s eight Zen 2 cores. These figures are simulation‑based and may change before the console’s expected 2027‑2028 launch. Sony and AMD have not confirmed the specifications.
