PlayStation India reportedly blacklists media over physical disc coverage

PlayStation India is reportedly blacklisting media outlets that have published critical reports regarding the company’s transition away from physical media. According to reports from High Chaos Run, marketing team members have allegedly accused certain journalists of attempting to generate views by putting the brand in a “bad light.”

As a consequence, some media organizations may lose access to upcoming titles, including Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, Wolverine, and Phantom Blade Zero. Reports suggest that PlayStation India’s PR agency has also blocked specific individuals on WhatsApp. These actions follow news that Sony Interactive Entertainment intends to cease production of physical discs for new PlayStation games starting in January 2028.

While the reports indicate that PlayStation India staff explicitly cited critical coverage as the reason for these restrictions, the allegations have not been independently confirmed by official sources.
