PLDT and PhilWeb report mixed financial results for 2026

PLDT reported a resilient first-half performance for 2026, with gross service revenues rising 2% to PHP108.7 billion. While reported income fell 6% to PHP16.4 billion due to foreign-exchange and derivatives losses, the company saw improvements in wireless trends. Mobile data and fixed wireless access revenue increased 2% to PHP38.7 billion, and top-up trends showed growth toward the end of the second quarter.

PhilWeb Corporation returned to profitability in the second quarter of 2026, posting a net income of PHP47.0 million, compared to a loss in the same period last year. Revenue surged 96% year-on-year to PHP352.4 million, largely driven by the Digital Gaming Solutions segment, which accounted for 57% of total revenue. This segment, focusing on online gaming platform technology and content distribution, had no revenue during the same quarter in 2025.
