Pleased Valley Casino to open in Pennsylvania retail space

Pleased Valley Casino is set to open in April, occupying a former Macy’s retail space at the Nittany Shopping Mall. The development is expected to generate between $1.4 million and $1.6 million in annual tax revenue for the township, with an estimated 600,000 visitors arriving at the site each year.

The project is projected to create approximately 350 jobs in the township and an additional 52 positions within the county. A study by the New Orleans-based consulting firm Convergence Strategy Group analyzed the potential economic and personal impacts of the establishment on the local community.

While the casino brings economic benefits, there are concerns regarding a potential rise in local crime following the opening. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has released the casino’s initial monthly gaming funds report.
