Plenergy appoints Álvaro Granada as new CEO
Plenergy has appointed Álvaro Granada as its new CEO, effective October 1. Granada succeeds the company’s founder, José Rodríguez de Arellano, who will remain with the low-cost fuel retailer as a member of the board of directors.
Granada brings over 20 years of international experience in the service station sector. Most recently, he served as CEO of Primax Group, managing over 2,200 stations across Peru, Ecuador, and Colombia. His previous experience includes a 14-year tenure at BP, where he held various leadership roles in the Iberia region and managed the company’s entry into the Mexican market.
The leadership transition comes as Plenergy reaches 412 service stations across Spain and Portugal, with expectations to exceed 2,000 million liters in sales by the end of the fiscal year. The company is currently controlled by Tensile Capital Management and Portobello Capital.
