Pleternica Summer Tambura Camp wins cultural education award

The Summer Tambura Camp in Pleternica has been awarded by Creative Cities Croatia in the category of ‘Education in Culture and Art’. Organized by the Pleternica Museum of Bećarac, the camp aims to promote the tambura, a traditional musical instrument deeply rooted in Croatian culture, particularly in the eastern regions.

Jasna Hoffmann, director of the museum, noted that the award recognizes the collective effort of the professors and the more than 200 participants who have attended the camp over its five previous editions. Due to high demand, the organizers were unable to accommodate all interested applicants this year. Preparations for the sixth edition are already underway for 2027.
