Pleven fire department headquarters officially opens after renovation

The renovated headquarters of the Regional Directorate Fire Safety and Civil Protection in Pleven has been officially opened following an investment exceeding 719,000 euros. The project focused on energy efficiency, accessibility, and the installation of a hybrid photovoltaic system to produce electricity for the facility's own needs.

Funded through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan and co-financed by the Ministry of Interior, the renovation included thermal insulation for external walls, roofs, and floor structures, as well as the replacement of windows. The upgrades aim to meet modern European standards, reduce energy consumption to an 'A' class rating, and lower carbon dioxide emissions.

The ceremony was attended by Chief Commissioner Alexander Dzharov, Pleven Mayor Dr. Valentin Hristov, and other local and state officials. In addition to the Pleven facility, renovations were also carried out for fire services in Knezh and Nikopol, with their official openings expected in the future.
