Plinacro nears completion of 533 million euro gas pipeline project

Plinacro, the Croatian gas transmission operator, is nearing the completion of a 533 million euro project to strengthen the national gas infrastructure. The project, funded by the European Union's Recovery and Resilience Facility, involves the construction of four major pipelines totaling 216 kilometers.

Ivica Arar, President of the Board of Plinacro, recently inspected the final two construction sites: the Kozarac–Sisak and Bosiljevo–Sisak pipelines. The Kozarac–Sisak segment is expected to be completed and enter trial operation by September 25. This new pipeline will operate at 100 bar pressure, enhancing supply security for the Sisak region.

The Bosiljevo–Sisak pipeline is also progressing according to schedule despite challenging terrain. Once the entire system is integrated, it will allow for bidirectional gas flow and increase transport capacity toward Hungary to 3.5 billion cubic meters annually. Other segments of the project, including the Zlobin–Bosiljevo and Zabok–Lučko pipelines, have already been completed.
