Plinio Chahín releases two new books on Dominican literature
Dominican poet, critic, and essayist Plinio Chahín has released two new books during an event held at Librería Cuesta in Santo Domingo. Published under the Santuario de Isael Pérez imprint, the new works include ‘Manual para minotauros. Sobre literatura dominicana’ and ‘La escritura de Plinio Chahín’ by Carlos Ardavín.
‘Manual para minotauros’ compiles Chahín’s literary criticism and reviews published over several years. The volume examines Dominican literature through aesthetic, cultural, and conceptual lenses, specifically addressing the role of criticism and the need for original critical intelligence that does not merely replicate foreign models.
‘La escritura de Plinio Chahín’ offers a look at the author’s own artistic trajectory. It contains reviews, analyses, and critical texts regarding his work, alongside interviews conducted by both Dominican and foreign writers. With these releases, Chahín reaches a milestone of twenty published books spanning poetry, essays, and literary criticism.
