Pljevlja Army House to become sports and tourism complex

The Ministry of Defense has announced that the Army House (Dom Vojske) in Pljevlja will be transferred to the Municipality of Pljevlja to be repurposed as part of a modern sports and tourism complex. The project involves the reconstruction and expansion of the former Army House into an athlete accommodation center covering approximately 7,600 square meters.

The broader development plan includes the construction of an indoor pool and a multifunctional sports hall, the reconstruction of the ‘Ada’ sports hall and auxiliary fields, and the revitalization of the stadium area under Golubinja. Additionally, tennis, football, and basketball courts are planned for the site of the former Army House.

Defense Minister Dragan Krapović stated that state property not essential to the primary tasks of the Armed Forces of Montenegro should be utilized for the public interest and local community development. To compensate for the transfer, the Ministry of Defense has proposed that the Municipality of Pljevlja provide two residential units of at least 60 square meters each, or alternatively, five accommodation units within the new complex.
