PLN Energi Primer Indonesia develops LNG network for Nusa Tenggara

PT PLN Energi Primer Indonesia (PLN EPI) is developing an LNG Logistics Network Cluster in Nusa Tenggara to supply gas to power plants with a total capacity of 477 megawatts (MW). The midstream infrastructure project, targeting an operational start in early 2029, will cover Lombok, Sumbawa, and Flores. This initiative aims to replace fuel oil (BBM) usage with liquefied natural gas to improve energy efficiency, reduce emissions, and strengthen the reliability of the electricity system in the region.

The network will initially serve five locations: PLTMG Lombok Peaker, PLTMG Lombok-2 Sambelia, Sumbawa, Flores, and Maumere, with an average gas requirement of 39.8 BBTUD. This development is necessary due to the geographic characteristics of Nusa Tenggara, which lacks direct upstream gas pipeline connections.

Separately, PLN EPI has received three honors at the TOP GRC Awards 2026, including the TOP GRC Awards #5 Star and the TOP GRC Golden Trophy for maintaining a five-star rating for three consecutive years. Additionally, Efin Febriantoro, Director of Finance and Risk Management, was named ‘The Most Committed GRC Leader 2026’ for his role in integrating governance, risk, and compliance into the company’s strategic operations.
