PLN launches 2026 Journalist Awards amid rising electric vehicle use in Bali

PLN has announced the return of the PLN Journalist Awards (PJA) 2026. Themed ‘Energi Mandiri, Indonesia Berdaya’ (Independent Energy, Empowered Indonesia), the competition aims to encourage journalists to explore energy and electricity issues. Registration is open from October 8 to November 6, 2026, across six categories including hard news, features, photography, and video.

Separately, Bali is seeing a significant rise in electric vehicle adoption. As of October 2026, there are 17,725 electric vehicles on the island, comprising 5,000 cars and over 12,000 motorcycles. This marks an increase from 14,000 units in March 2026 and 15,000 in July 2026. To support this growth, PLN is working to expand the ecosystem of Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU).
