PLN President Director faces abuse of power allegations

Darmawan Prasodjo, the President Director of PT PLN (Persero), is facing allegations of abuse of power following a series of leadership reshuffles within PLN subsidiaries. The restructuring, which affected PLN Batam and PLN Nusantara Power Construction (NPC), reportedly took place shortly before the Idul Fitri holidays.

Critics have noted irregularities in the timing of these changes, specifically that the reshuffle occurred while two director positions at PLN Nusantara Power remained vacant and before the PLN Holding General Meeting of Shareholders (RUPS) was convened. One notable change involved the appointment of Agung Murdifi to a director position at PLN NPC; Murdifi was a former General Manager scheduled to retire in April 2025.

These developments have led to calls for President Prabowo Subianto and State-Owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir to evaluate Darmawan’s leadership. Observers have questioned the logic of replacing active officials while other key leadership roles remain unfilled.
