Plovdiv addresses urban safety and traffic issues
Local authorities in Plovdiv have addressed several urban management issues involving public safety and infrastructure. In the Mladost Street area, municipal teams from the Gardens and Parks Enterprise, working alongside EVN technicians, removed dangerous tree branches that were entangled in electrical cables. The intervention was required after branches from American ash trees posed a risk to pedestrians and vehicles.
Separately, residents have raised concerns regarding traffic and parking congestion in Plovdiv’s Old Town. Vehicles have been reported blocking pedestrian access and obstructing views near historic landmarks such as Hisar Kapia and along Saborna Street. The issue highlights the ongoing tension between maintaining the historical character of the zone and managing the needs of residents, businesses, and tourists.
