Plovdiv Airport faces 1.3 million euro debt amid tax arrears

Plovdiv Airport is facing significant financial challenges, according to data provided by the Ministry of Transport and the airport management. As of September 1, the state-owned company has total liabilities amounting to 1.3 million euros.

A critical portion of this debt includes 648,000 euros owed to the National Revenue Agency (NAP) for overdue social security and tax obligations, with no formal repayment extension currently in place.

For the 2025 fiscal year, the airport's projected expenses are 2.353 million euros against projected revenues of 2.408 million euros. Of the total revenue, 614,000 euros are sourced from the state. While the company reports that employee salaries and advances are being paid on schedule, questions remain regarding the management of mounting debts and the long-term development of the airport.
