Plovdiv begins construction of new Kan Krum Park

Construction has officially begun on the new Kan Krum Park in the Trakia district of Plovdiv. The project is part of the ‘Plovdiv – cleaner, greener and socially responsible city’ initiative, funded by the Regional Development Program 2021–2027.

Spanning approximately 79 decares, the park will feature extensive greenery, including nearly 1,000 trees and 20,000 shrubs. Key amenities planned for the site include modern playgrounds, outdoor sports zones, dedicated areas for pets, and an amphitheater with a 194-seat tribune. The development also includes three water bodies with a combined volume exceeding 1,400 cubic meters, pedestrian and jogging paths, and 109 parking spaces.

Infrastructure improvements will include an automated irrigation system, LED lighting, and a video surveillance network consisting of 171 cameras. The estimated maximum value of the project is approximately 4.78 million euros (excluding VAT), with a scheduled completion timeframe of 540 days.
