The Plovdiv Appellate Court has upheld the detention of two female minors, aged 15 and 17, accused of participating in the brutal murder of 37-year-old Georgi Kuzev at Mladjezhki Hill. The court's decision follows appeals by the defense seeking lighter measures, such as parental supervision. Three other male minors, aged 14 and 16, also remain in custody as they did not appeal their detention.

Prosecutors allege the assault was premeditated and driven by hooliganistic and sexual motives. Evidence suggests the group may have links to neo-Nazi organizations. Investigators are currently examining mobile phones and video footage from the group to gather further evidence. Medical reports confirmed Kuzev died from severe traumatic brain injury and internal organ damage following a prolonged assault.

In response to the incident, protesters gathered in front of the Plovdiv courthouse demanding justice and legislative changes. They are calling for an amendment to Article 63 of the Penal Code to ensure that minors aged 16 and older face increased criminal responsibility for serious crimes, specifically requesting that sentences for premeditated murder not be automatically reduced due to age.
