Plovdiv dealer Slav Kraychev placed in custody for 100 g cocaine ordered via Bitcoin
Slav Kraychev, a 35‑year‑old resident of Plovdiv, was arrested on 17 July 2026 after police stopped a taxi in Dimitrovgrad and found nearly 100 grams of cocaine. The drug had been ordered through the messaging app Telegram, with the payment intended to be made in Bitcoin. Kraychev, who has previously served multiple prison terms for drug‑related offenses and lives in London, traveled to Bulgaria to collect the shipment.
The Plovdiv Court of Appeal upheld the pre‑trial detention ordered by the Haskovo district court, rejecting Kraychev’s appeal for a lighter measure. The judges cited the evidence suggesting his involvement in the crime and the risk of flight or further offenses. The decision is final and non‑appealable, leaving Kraychev in custody pending trial.
