Plovdiv Deputy Mayor Plamen Panov named ‘40 do 40’ finalist
Plamen Panov, the Deputy Mayor of Plovdiv, has been named a finalist in the 13th season of the ‘40 do 40’ project organized by Darik Radio. The initiative recognizes 40 successful Bulgarians under the age of 40 who contribute significantly to society.
Panov, 38, was selected in the ‘Education’ category for his role as a co-author and creator of Bulgaria’s first municipal policy for the systematic implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in secondary schools. This initiative is a funded three-year subprogram designed to be available to all 52 municipal schools in Plovdiv.
The recognition follows a decision by the Plovdiv Municipal Council on August 3 to amend the ‘Municipal Educational Program 2026–2028’, a proposal led by Panov following his appointment to oversee digitalization, European policies, business development, and education in May.
