Plovdiv doctors remove tooth from 3-year-old boy's nose

Medical specialists at the ENT Clinic of University Hospital Kaspera in Plovdiv discovered a foreign object in the nasal cavity of a three-and-a-half-year-old boy. The object was identified as a decayed primary tooth.

The child was admitted following prolonged, atypical discharge from only the right nostril. Doctors noted that unilateral nasal discharge, especially when accompanied by an unpleasant odor, pus, or blood, is a key indicator of a foreign object.

It was later determined that the tooth belonged to the boy's older brother and had accidentally entered the child's nasal passage. Following the removal of the tooth, the child recovered without complications. Dr. Danail Arkumarev advised parents to monitor for symptoms such as one-sided nasal congestion or discharge, as symptoms of foreign objects do not always appear immediately.
