Plovdiv football derbies scheduled across multiple leagues

Plovdiv is hosting multiple football derbies this week. In the Southeast Third League, Maritsa will face Spartak on the artificial pitch of the English Gymnasium at 17:00, as financial issues have prevented repairs to the Maritsa Stadium. Spartak currently leads the league with 15 points, while Maritsa sits in 17th place with one point.

Additionally, the reserve teams Lokomotiv 2 and Botev 2 will meet at Plovdiv Stadium at 17:00. Lokomotiv 2 holds 11th place with 6 points, while Botev 2 is in 14th place with 4 points.

The main event, the highly anticipated derby between Botev Plovdiv and Lokomotiv Plovdiv, is scheduled for September 13 at 20:30 at the Hristo Botev Stadium. Ahead of the match, Botev owner Iliyan Filipov released an emotional message on social media, calling for unity and urging players to fight for the honor of the yellow-and-black jersey and the support of the fans.
