Plovdiv hospital: Woman dies after falling from fourth floor

A woman, aged approximately 30-35, died after falling from the fourth floor of the UMBAL ‘St. Georgi’ hospital in Plovdiv. The incident occurred during the afternoon hours of September 10.

The woman, originally from Sofia but residing in Plovdiv, had given birth at the District Hospital just hours prior. Following the birth, she reportedly sustained head injuries after a fall on some stairs, which necessitated her transfer to the maxillofacial surgery clinic at UMBAL ‘St. Georgi’.

Unconfirmed reports suggest a potential conflict involving the father of the newborn, who allegedly refused to recognize the child. Police and medical teams arrived at the scene, but the woman was pronounced dead. Authorities have sent the body to forensic medicine and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
