Plovdiv hosts opening of new Chinese-owned high-tech factory

Prime Minister Rumen Radev attended the official opening of a high-tech manufacturing facility for ZS EUROPE, a project by Shanghai Unison Aluminum Products, located in the Trakia Economic Zone near Plovdiv. The plant produces aluminum components for leading global automotive manufacturers.

During the event, Radev emphasized that the investment reflects growing confidence in Bulgaria’s political stability and the government's strategy to shift the national economic model from low-cost labor toward high-value-added, high-tech production. He noted that the project serves as a practical realization of the strategic partnership between Bulgaria and China, established in 2019.

The expansion of the ZS EUROPE facility is part of a broader series of investments in the region. Combined with a new medical supplies production site near Tsarovo, the total investment for these two enterprises amounts to approximately 25 million euros.
