Plovdiv Municipality announces curator competitions for 2027 art events
The Plovdiv Municipality has launched competitions to select curators and organizational concepts for two major upcoming art events in 2027.
For the International Photography Meetings, scheduled for October 8 to 31, 2027, the municipality is seeking specialists or teams to propose innovative ideas that blend the festival's long-standing traditions with contemporary visual arts trends. The estimated budget for this event is up to 27,000 euros, and applications are open until January 15, 2027.
Separately, a competition has been announced for the National Autumn Exhibitions, which will take place from September 1 to 30, 2027. The goal is to create a diverse profile for the event and encourage participation from fine arts experts across Bulgaria, focusing on current trends within the Old Town of Plovdiv. The planned budget for the National Autumn Exhibitions is also up to 27,000 euros. The deadline for submitting applications for this competition is December 10.
