Plovdiv municipality selects Dragiev & Co for €4.8 million street renovation

Six months after opening the tender, Plovdiv Municipality received only one valid price offer for the reconstruction of the "Park Rest and Culture" street. The sole bidder, Dragiev & Co, submitted a proposal of €4,790,720 (excluding VAT), which is about €1.5 million below the estimated €6.3 million cost.

The project covers a 1,560‑metre section of the street, including a new road surface, sidewalks, bike lanes, green spaces, replacement water pipes, a new sewage system, and energy‑efficient street lighting. The contract will be awarded pending verification of the bid, but the decision can be appealed to the State Commission on Control of the Process (KZK), potentially delaying the start of works.

Funding remains uncertain after the project was removed from the 2026 state budget, leaving the municipality without a clear source for the near‑€4.8 million required.
