Plovdiv Municipality to host hazardous waste collection campaign

Plovdiv Municipality is organizing its second annual campaign to collect hazardous household waste on Thursday, October 22, 2026. The initiative follows increased public interest in a similar event held in May.

A mobile collection point will be located in the Central district on Shesti Septemvri Boulevard, in the parking lot behind the T-Market store. Residents can drop off hazardous materials free of charge between 08:30 and 14:30.

The campaign accepts various items, including mercury-containing appliances (excluding fluorescent lamps), paints and varnishes, household chemicals, inks, contaminated packaging, pesticides, and expired pharmaceuticals. The program aims to prevent toxic substances from entering the environment or air through standard waste containers and to ensure safe disposal.

Citizens unable to attend the mobile collection can use the specialized site at the Cleanliness Operational Program base in the South district.
