Plovdiv Municipality unveils 2026–2028 educational framework

The Plovdiv Municipality has introduced its updated Municipal Educational Program for the 2026–2028 period. During a working meeting at the Boris Hristov House of Culture, local school directors were briefed on the new strategic framework, which focuses on modernization, artificial intelligence, and innovative teaching methodologies.

The program follows a decision by the Plovdiv Municipal Council on August 3 to amend and expand the existing framework to better address the challenges of the digital era. Key priorities include digital transformation and opening school grounds to the wider community.

Financial provisions are included to improve school infrastructure. A subprogram for beautifying school yards and sports grounds has an annual budget of up to 125,000 EUR for 2026, 2027, and 2028, covering up to 70% of eligible costs. Additionally, a subprogram for kindergartens focusing on playgrounds and accessible architectural environments has an annual budget of up to 50,000 EUR for the same period.

Experts from the Center for Creative Learning and Google for Education participated in the event to present on topics such as cloud-based schooling and digital transformation.
